WSI statement on recent media coverage

09 September 2025

Recent reporting about Future Form, a construction sub-contractor that is alleged to have engaged in serious misconduct, mentions Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) on multiple occasions.

The facts in relation to this matter are:

  • Webuild is a major contractor on the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport (The Metro) railway line connecting St Marys to the airport precinct.
  • The Metro construction and WSI Airport construction are separate infrastructure projects, being overseen by completely different entities.
  • Future Form has not been involved in the delivery of WSI’s $5.3B package of Main Works Contracts to deliver the airport terminal, runway, airside and landside infrastructure.
  • WSI is currently in the process of commencing ancillary works in the airport precinct to deliver corporate office space and canine kennels required for customs operations.
  • The primary contractor on these sites is CPB Contractors, and it advised WSI that it recently sub-contracted Future Form in July 2025 to carry out form work at these work sites. The form work is a minor component of these works.
  • WSI Airport is not aware of any complaints or allegations of misconduct on these WSI work sites.
  • WSI Airport will cooperate fully with any inquiries conducted by the Fair Work Commission or law enforcement agencies should allegations of workplace misconduct or criminal activity be made in connection with any construction works on a WSI managed site.
  • We have a thorough, ongoing assurance program in place to ensure contractors adhere to the highest safety and compliance standards at all times.
