Driving airside at WSI is regulated through Airside Vehicle Control Handbook (AVCH), which requires a vehicle or driver permit to operate airside unescorted. Before WSI opens for commercial operations, permits will be issued on a conditional basis.
- Authority for Use Airside (AUA) Permit: This permit allows a vehicle displaying a valid permit to operate airside unescorted. To apply for a permit, please complete the AUA application available via the AeroSimple system. As part of the application, the following information needs to be provided:
- Proof of Insurance Certificate
- Evidence of Need to Operate Airside Vehicles
- Vehicle & Equipment Recovery Procedures/Processes.
- Authority to Drive Airside (ADA) Permit: This permit allows individuals to drive vehicles airside unescorted. To apply for a permit, please complete the ADA application available via the AeroSimple system. Applicants are required to hold:
- Red Access Card and State or Territory Drivers Licence
- Complete the following:
- eLearning Course (administered through WSI Learning Management System)
- Theory Assessment
- Familiarisation Drive (exemptions may apply).
When selecting which category of ADA permit to apply for, general suppliers and contractors should apply for Category 1.
To operate a vehicle airside without a valid AUA and ADA permit, both the vehicle and the driver must be under an escort. Escorts are provided by us and certain authorised contractors. Escort applications can be accessed through the Escort Application form. If you require support navigating the AeroSimple system, please refer to the AeroSimple Supplier Guide.
Access the AeroSimple Portal. Permits are collected from Airport Services Centre.
