Accessing WSI

 

Depending on your role and operational requirements, you may require WSI access card. For more information about access and security at WSI read WSI Security Awareness Guide

All access services, including visitor access cards and lost property, are processed by the Airport Services Centre (ASC). For all WSI access card enquiries, email ASC at servicescentre@wsiairport.com.au
 
Types of access cards are outlined below: 

Visitor Identification Card (VIC) 

VICs are issued to individuals requiring temporary or occasional access to secure terminal, landside, or airside areas. 

Key Information: 

  • Valid for up to 28 days within a 12-month period.
  • If you will be working at WSI for more than 28 days per year, you must apply for a WSI-issued Access Control Card (ACC).
  • VIC holders must be escorted at all times by a WSI Access Card holder.
  • VICs are not a substitute for ASICs or ACCs. 

Access Control Card (ACC) 

ACC provides electronic swipe access to designated secure zones across terminal, landside, and airside areas. 

Key Information: 

  • Required for individuals working at WSI for more than 28 days per year.
  • Applications must include:
    • Specific access point requirements and justification based on operational duties
    • Supporting documentation (e.g., ASIC or Job Ready Certificate)
    • Formal Identification (Driver’s licence, passport etc)
  • Mandatory completion of online onboarding and induction training via WSI’s Learning Management System.
  • Completion of ACC applications


Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) 
 

ASICs are required for individuals who need unescorted access to secure areas of the airport as part of their job duties. 

Key Information: 

  • Applications must be submitted via approved online issuing bodies such as Aviation ID Australia.
  • ASICs are subject to background checks and compliance with national aviation security regulations.
  • Lost or stolen ASICs must be reported immediately for deactivation and reissue. 


Important Note: 

  • While awaiting your WSI Access Card, you must obtain a Visitor Pass and be escorted at all times by your designated sponsor or a WSI Access Card holder.
  • Links to the LMS and access card application will be provided during onboarding.
  • Once your card is ready, you’ll receive an email with collection instructions.
